Bulldogs Top Glendale in Four Sets at Home
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team turned in a complete team performance to defeat Glendale College, 3–1 (25–19, 24–26, 25–23, 25–22), on Wednesday night during a non-conference clash inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. | BOX SCORE
Sophomore Emma Olney powered the attack with 16 kills and added 17 digs for a double-double, including clutch swings late in sets one and three. Setter Michelle Rodriquez ran the show with 35 assists and 18 digs, sprinkling in two timely aces during momentum swings. On the pins, Bailey Ware chipped in nine kills on an efficient .308 hitting night, while Madison Rice added eight kills and Myranda Miranda hit .294 with five kills off the bench.
Hancock (6-6) seized the opener with a 10–4 finishing kick—highlighted by a Morgan Doss ace at 15–15 and back-to-back points from Olney and Ware—before closing 25–19. The visiting Vaqueros (2-7) rallied late to steal set two and even the match. In set three, Olney struck for consecutive kills out of a timeout to flip a 22–22 tie into a 25–23 win, and AHC never trailed down the stretch of the fourth, sealing the match 25–22.
Defense and serving carried the night: Hancock stacked 83 digs—Doss led all players with 22—and delivered 11 aces (Doss 4; Olney 2; Rodriquez 2; Simon Harper 2; Jordyn Thomas 1). The Bulldogs also balanced the offense with 49 kills and hit .200+ in the final two frames to put the match away.
