Two Bulldogs Land Runner-Up Finishes at the WSC Preview
VENTURA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College cross country programs continued the fall campaign by competing at the Western State Conference (WSC) Preview event, hosted at Arroyo Park in Ventura, on Friday. | FULL RESULTS
The men's team took sixth place out of 10 scoring programs after accumulating a final score of 117. Hancock was tied with College of the Canyons in team scoring but landed in the sixth place slot overall due to tiebreaking procedures. John Gutierrez was tops for the program with a runner-up performance through the field of 98 racers after turning in a final time of 22:15.7. Erick Marceleno also secured a top-10 finish on the day, placing 9th with a time of 23:16.7.
The women's program took third out of four scoring teams with a final tally of 63. Peyton Miya led the way as the second place performer through the field of 51 with a final time of 21:31.4, followed by a fourth place finish from Rylie Allen (22:01.3). Brianna Tello was the next Bulldog to cross the line, claiming 23rd place with a time of 24:42.5.
Both squads will be back in action on Friday, September 19th, at the Gaucho Twilight event hosted at the Mission Club Golf Course.
