Bulldogs Eye First Conference Win Wednesday At LA Pierce
The women's water polo team will play its first game in three weeks when it travels to LA Pierce (0-5, 0-7) on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 3:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will return home to host Southwestern on Friday, Oct. 30, in a non-conference game, at 3 p.m. at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center.
Five games into the inaugural season of women's water polo at Hancock, freshman Rebecca Gonzalez (Nipomo HS) leads the team with nine goals, while Nikki Gurgiolo (Righetti HS) ranks second with six, and sophomore Ashley Lindsey (Santa Maria HS) sits third with five scores.
LA Valley sits atop the WSC standings at 6-0 in league, followed by Santa Barbara at 4-1, while Cuesta and Citrus are 4-2 in conference. Ventura sits in fifth at 3-3. Santa Monica, LA Pierce and Hancock are still looking for their first league wins.
LA Pierce has lost all seven of its game this season, including five conference matches. Tamar Kazanjian leads the Brahmas with 22 goals in seven games this season, an average of 3.14 goals pre game which ranks third in the conference.
