Bulldogs Dominate Ventura 4–1 at Home Behind Ando-Pineda’s Two-Goal Performance
The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Tuesday afternoon, overpowering visiting Ventura College 4–1 in a Western State Conference showdown at home.
From the opening whistle, the Bulldogs established control with crisp ball movement and high-tempo pressure that immediately paid off. Defender Angela Gonzalez opened the scoring just 62 seconds into the match, finishing a feed from Natalya Ando-Pineda to give Hancock an early 1–0 lead.
Ventura briefly clawed back when Jazzy Moreno converted in the 20th minute to tie it 1–1, but Hancock refused to let momentum swing. In the 38th minute, Ando-Pineda answered with a composed strike of her own off an assist from Shyenne Cano, sending the Bulldogs into halftime with a 2–1 advantage.
Hancock kept the foot on the gas after the break. Just two minutes into the second half, Stephanie Garcia buried a penalty kick to stretch the margin to 3–1. The Bulldogs continued to attack with confidence and composure, and Ando-Pineda capped her stellar night in the 78th minute—slotting home her second goal of the match off a clever setup from Raquel Schmid.
Goalkeeper Sam Patchin anchored the defense with four saves, including a crucial stop on a Ventura penalty early in the first half that preserved the early lead and shifted the tone of the match.
The Bulldogs out-shot Ventura 7–6, showing efficiency in the final third while conceding only a handful of quality chances. The win lifts Allan Hancock to 3-4-6 overall (2-1-1 WSC).
AHC continue conference play next Tuesday, October 14, with a road matchup at Moorpark College.
