SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team opened the 2025 slate with a 2-2 draw at home in a non-conference contest against Santa Monica College on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
The visiting Corsairs (0-0-1) struck first in the 9th minute after sinking a free kick opportunity from just outside the box, but the Bulldogs (0-0-1) quickly responded when Angela Gonzalez powered home the equalizer in the 13th minute off an assist from Gabriella Pulido. The match tightened in the second half, with both sides trading momentum. SMC saw their second goal hit the back of the net in the 57th minute before Ruby Graciliano capitalized on a free kick opportunity in the 58th minute, ensuring the Bulldogs stayed level.
Goalkeeper Sam Patchin played a key role in the draw by recording five saves, including several in the second half to keep Hancock even. The Bulldogs out-cornered Santa Monica 6–2, generating consistent pressure in the attacking third.
AHC is set to return to action on Friday, August 29th, on the roast at West LA College. That game is slated to begin at 4 PM.
