Hancock Women’s Basketball Earns 68–60 Victory at Home
SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Allan Hancock College women's basketball put together a strong all-around performance on Tuesday night, earning a 68–60 home victory to open conference play at the Sports Pavilion.

Hancock led 32–24 at the break before weathering a third-quarter push, then responded with its best stretch of the night in the final frame. The Bulldogs outscored their opponent 24–17 in the fourth quarter, leaning on timely perimeter shooting and a deep bench to seal the win.
Sophomore Bree Luna delivered a standout performance, pouring in a game-high 28 points on six three-pointers while adding 10 rebounds and four steals. Aileen Hernandez Zavala provided a major spark off the bench with 13 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc, while Sophonnie Felix added 12 points, five rebounds, and two blocks.
Hancock's depth proved decisive, as the Bulldogs held a 31–2 advantage in bench points and finished with 17 steals on the night. The Bulldogs also converted 18 of 24 free throws, helping maintain control late despite a tightly contested game.
The win moves Allan Hancock to 1–0 in conference play and continues a positive trend at home as the Bulldogs look to build momentum heading deeper into the conference schedule.
The Lady Bulldog's return to action on the road vs. Cuesta College, Saturday Jan. 10th at 3:00pm.
