NEXT LEVEL: Dolores Commits to Evangel (Mo.) University
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Allan Hancock College shortstop, Kaylee Dolores, will continue her academic and athletic career at Evangel University next season.
"I was given an amazing opportunity to continue my softball journey and after talking to Coach Jay and Coach Sony, it seems like Evangel will be a really good program to be a part of," Dolores shared. "The campus is beautiful and everyone I've spoken to has been so helpful throughout this process. I'm excited to get started!"
Dolores completed her second season for the Bulldogs in the spring and led the way for the program as a First Team All-Conference honoree. The Pioneer Valley High School alum, who also picked up a Second Team nod as a freshman, closed out her sophomore campaign with a team-best batting average of .407 and 16 RBIs through 26 games played. Dolores also led the team with 15 stolen bases and boasts a .922 fielding percentage on 103 total chances.
"AHC has had a tremendous impact on me and my journey so far. The training staff has taught me some big life lessons on how to take care of myself, the softball staff gave me opportunities, and the athletic staff has supported me throughout my time here at Hancock and encouraged me to continue through the hard times. I want to thank Shelby, Kim, and Ricardo for just being there for me. I don't know if I could have made it through without their help and the numerous opportunities that they gave me to get to where I am today," Dolores added. "The endless amount of support from all of the AHC athletes and everyone else definitely prepared me to take this next step in life. Bulldog Nation will always be a part of me, and I've been very blessed to by this chapter in my life.
The Valor are a member of the NAIA and compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
