Cross Country Continues Campaign at BC Invitational
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College cross country programs continued the season by competing in the BC Invitational event, hosted at the Kern County Soccer Park, on Friday afternoon. | FULL RESULTS
The men's team took third place out of nine scoring programs on the day, securing the highest team finish for the program in a field this size in over 20 years. John Gutierrez led the way as the individual winner of the 106-participant event after clocking a final time of 20:43.76 in the four-mile race. Erick Marceleno followed with a top-20 performance, securing a 15th place finish with a time of 21:34.82, while Victor Rojas rounded out the top performers for AHC in 29th (22:24.78).
The women's program landed in fourth place out of six scoring teams, with two individual Bulldogs claiming top-10 slots. Peyton Miya finished as the runner-up after turning in a time of 19:45.26 on the route, followed by a seventh place showing from Rylie Allen with a time of 20:25.44.
Both squads will resume action on Friday, October 10th, at the SoCal Preview Meet. That event will be held at NTC Park in San Diego.
