Bulldogs Claim 6 Podium Finishes at WSC Prelims
SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Allan Hancock College put together an impressive showing at the 2026 Western State Conference Track & Field Meet, combining for six podium finishes across the men's and women's competitions.
Jacob Garbiso was the standout performer for the Bulldogs, winning the shot put with a mark of 14.50 meters before taking second in the discus at a personal-best 43.22 meters. Esequiel Gauna joined Garbiso on the shot put podium with a third-place finish at 12.95 meters, giving Allan Hancock a 1-3 finish in the event. John Gutierrez rounded out the men's podium performances, claiming first place in the 10,000 meters with a personal-best time of 32:47.74.
On the women's side, Ashley Corona won the 100 meters finals with a personal-best time of 13.62 seconds. Eva Luu earned second place in the 10,000 meters with a personal-best 40:06.34, and Elizabeth Roldan-Vargas took third in the 800 meters finals with a personal-best clocking of 3:18.65.
Four of the six podium finishes were personal bests. The Bulldogs return to action at the WSC Finals, hosted by Moorpark College on April 24.
