Hancock Men Make Splash at WSC #3
SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock men's swimming team had a strong showing at Western State Conference Meet #3, held Saturday at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center.
The quartet of Josiah Smee, Brayden Alvarez, Edward Wallace and Peter Klosterman teamed up to win the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:42.97, topping the field for the Bulldogs' top finish of the meet.
Alvarez also turned in a standout individual effort, touching the wall in 49.29 to claim silver in the 100 freestyle. Smee added a runner-up finish of his own in the 200 individual medley, touching the wall in a personal-best 2:09.97. Jerred DeTorres rounded out the silver medals, finishing second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:25.70.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday, April 4th at the Bakersfield Invitational.
