Alvarez Breaks 100 Fly Record as Bulldogs Compete at Cuesta Invite
SANTA MARIA, Calif - This past weekend Men's and Women's Swim competed in the state-wide, Cuesta Invitational with 22 teams competing. The Invite represents an approximate half-way point on the season and gives a good idea of where athletes stand for WSC and 3C2A placement.
The Men were led by Brayden Alvarez who broke the Hancock Men's School Record in the 100 Butterfly with a 54.05. Alvarez swam personal bests across a multitude of events while leading most of the Men's relays. Josiah Smee also had some stellar performances in the Men's 1650, 400 IM and 500 Free - while also contributing on relays. The Men finished 7th overall and 2nd among WSC teams.
The women were led by Ianna Calderon and Ella Edds to a 14th place in the team standings. Addison Luette and Sierra Lacasse had massive improvement to assist Bulldog relays. Calderon scored in the 100 & 200 Butterfly, while Edds scored in the 200 Backstroke.
The team travels to LAVC next Saturday for WSC #2.
