SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team opened the 2025 campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Clovis College at home on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (1-0) were powered by a brace from midfielder Caleb Toledo and a game-winner in the opening half from Bryan Vargas. Toldeo put the home squad on the board with a successful penalty kick try in the first three minutes, then iced the result in the 85th minute off a corner—finishing a ball from Pablo Resendiz with an additional touch credited to Juan Zarate. Vargas staked Hancock to a 2–0 lead in the 44th on a tidy finish set up by Toledo.
Clovis pulled one back in the 82nd, but keeper Max Brewster (4 saves) and a steady back line—Benny Nicolas, Robert Torres, Joaquin Dugas, and Javier Villafan—saw out the final minutes to secure the victory. Hancock outshot the visitors 10–8 (7–5 on frame) and converted their lone penalty kick opportunity.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Tuesday, August 26th, against Santa Monica College at 2 PM.
