MEN'S SOCCER BESTS CITRUS, 2-0

SANTA MARIA-- Coach Al Garcia's AHC men's soccer team posted its first conference win of the season with a solid 2-0 victory over visiting Citrus College.

Hancock (3-5-2, 1-0-1 WSC) scored a goal in each half to record the important win. Freshman forward Alexis Lomeli (Righetti) got the Bulldogs on the board in the 39th minute, when he took a short centering pass from freshman forward Jose Villalba (Santa Maria) and beat the Owls' keeper in the left corner of the goal.

Villalba scored the clincher in the 83rd minute, assisted by freshman forward Juan Leon (Arroyo Grande). The Bulldogs also received an outstanding performance in goal by freshman keeper Victor Lara (Lompoc), who went the distance and made four saves.

Hancock continues WSC play Friday, in a 4 p.m. start at home against Los Angeles Mission College.
