CANYONS ENDS MEN'S SOCCER STREAK, 3-2
SANTA MARIA-- College of the Canyons snapped a modest two-match winning streak of the AHC men's soccer team, 3-2 on Tuesday at the campus field.
Hancock (5-5-2, 3-4-2 WSC) fell to a two-goal deficit in the 17th minute. The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the 27th minute, as Paul Williams was assisted by Miguel Zuniga, narrowing the deficit to 2-1. The game settled into a rugged defensive battle until Hancock tied it on Memo Chavez's penalty kick in the 56th minute. But Canyons scored the winning goal four minutes later and the Bulldogs never got even.
The Bulldogs will host Santa Barbara in another important WSC match at 4:00 p.m. Friday on the campus field.
