Bulldogs don't go full 90
Someone needs to remind Hancock College's men's soccer team matches last 90 minutes.
The Bulldogs dominated the first two-thirds of Saturday's non-conference match with Porterville but finished with a 2-2 draw on their campus field.
"We got (overconfident)," said Hancock coach Al Garcia, whose team's record stands at 6-2-2 after starting the season 5-0.
"For 67 minutes we looked awesome."
A goal from Chris Nunez on an assist from Homero Vasquez gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute.
Eight minutes into the second half, Tito Ponce was fouled in the box and Isaac Torres converted the penalty kick for his 13th goal of the season and a 2-0 lead.
But the Pirates countered with a penalty-kick goal of their own in the 67th minute and added another goal three minutes later.
"We had plenty of chances," Garcia said. "This is not a team we should have tied."
