Late goal pulls Bulldogs even
The Hancock College men's soccer team narrowly averted a big home loss Thursday afternoon, scoring in the waning moments of injury time in the second half to pull out a 2-2 non-conference result with Fresno City.
The Bulldogs, 6-2-1 so far but only 1-2-1 in their last four matches, got second-half goals from Isaac Torres in the 52nd minute and from Chris Nunez in the 94th minute.
After being down 1-0 at the half and 2-0 after the 50-minute mark, Hancock began its comeback when Torres took a John Roth pass and netted his 12th goal of the season in the 75th minute.
It remained 2-1 until the waning moments of injury time, when a deep volley from Billy Barbaree was misplayed by the Fresno keeper and redirected in by Chris Nunez.
Hancock continues its non-conference home schedule Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against Porterville.
