Hancock opens with victory

PORTERVILLE — Isaac Torres had a goal and two assists as the Hancock College men's soccer team began its season in style with a 6-4 victory over Porterville on Tuesday.

Zak Viker added a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, who scored five goals in the second half after going down 2-1 at the break.

Julio Thompson, Nathan Nunez, Nick Estorga, and Billy Barbaree added a goal each in the second half of the win.

"We played a very solid second half, and Billy had a tremendous game for us," said coach Al Garcia of the Bulldogs, the defending Western State Conference champs.

The Bulldogs travel to Modesto on Saturday.
