Bulldogs Close Regular Season with Gritty 78–77 Road Win at Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team closed out the regular season in dramatic fashion Tuesday night, earning a hard-fought 78–77 road victory over Ventura College in a tightly contested conference matchup. |BOX SCORE
After trailing 40–36 at halftime, the Bulldogs responded with a strong second-half performance, outscoring Ventura 42–37 to secure the one-point win. Hancock imposed its physicality inside, finishing with a 52–44 advantage in points in the paint while also edging the Pirates in second-chance points, 22–21.
Trenten Lavender led the Bulldogs with 19 points, consistently attacking the basket and knocking down all seven of his free-throw attempts. Noah Morris added 13 points and eight rebounds, providing a steady presence in the paint on both ends of the floor. Arlind Konjuhi chipped in 14 points and three steals, helping set the tone defensively throughout the night.
Hancock's depth played a key role, as the Bulldogs outscored Ventura 21–6 in bench points. TJ Hollinger was perfect from the field, going 4-for-4 for eight points, while Adam Silmon and Morris combined to control the glass and limit second chances late.
Despite shooting just 13.3 percent from three-point range, Hancock stayed composed at the free-throw line, converting 18 of 23 attempts and making timely stops down the stretch. The Bulldogs forced 12 turnovers and limited Ventura to just one made three-pointer on the night.
With the win, Allan Hancock finishes the regular season at 20–8 overall and 9–3 in conference play. The Bulldogs now await postseason playoff selection, which will be announced Sunday.
