Defense, Depth Power Bulldogs Past LA Pierce
Santa Maria, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team delivered a complete road performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past LA Pierce College 73–50 to secure a conference win at Ken Stanley Court. |BOX SCORE
Hancock set the tone early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first half and never letting Pierce find rhythm. The Bulldogs held the Brahmas to just 25.7% shooting in the opening 20 minutes and took a 35–24 advantage into the break.
Arlind Konjuhi led all scorers with 17 points, knocking down five field goals and converting all four of his free throws while adding five assists. TJ Hollinger was dominant inside, finishing with 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting and a team-high nine rebounds, consistently winning the physical battle in the paint.
Noah Morris made his presence felt on the glass, pulling down 13 rebounds to go with six points, as Hancock controlled the boards 48–35 and piled up 18 second-chance points. Trenten Lavender chipped in 10 points and four assists, helping keep the offense organized throughout the game.
The Bulldogs' depth also showed, outscoring Pierce 22–6 in bench points, while holding the Brahmas to 30.0% shooting for the game. Hancock closed the afternoon by shooting 85.7% from the free-throw line in the second half, eliminating any chance of a late comeback.
With the win, Hancock improves to 18–7 overall and 7–2 in conference play, continuing to apply pressure in the conference title race as the regular season winds down.
The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday as conference play continues on the road at Moorpark College.
