Football Falls to Citrus in Season Finale, 51-31
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College football team rode a blistering start and a big day on the ground, but fell short as Citrus College answered with a decisive second-half run to claim a 51–31 National Northern League win at home on Saturday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (4-6, 3-4 NNL) 14–0 behind two first-quarter touchdown strikes from Drake Missamore to Elias Martinez, then added a blocked-punt score and a late 57-yard burst from Semaj Carmichael. The visiting Owls (6-4, 4-3 NNL), however, finished the day 6-for-6 in the red zone and stacked 28 unanswered points spanning the third and early fourth quarters to pull away.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hot start (1st) — Missamore capped the opening march with a 25-yard toss to Martinez at 13:25, then found him again from 17 yards at 3:19 for a 14–0 cushion. Citrus trimmed it to 14–7 with 0:36 left in the quarter after a six-play scoring drive.
- Special teams spark (2nd) — The Bulldogs' punt unit delivered when Jacob Nelson fell on a blocked punt by Jacob Sanders in the end zone at 12:37 to make it 20–7. After a Citrus touchdown and field goal, Raymond Escobedo drilled a 29-yard try through the uprights for a 23–17 lead at 1:07, but the Owls stole momentum right before the break with a 55-yard TD pass at 0:35 (Citrus led 24–23).
- Turning point (3rd) — Hancock drove to the Citrus 29 but had a 33-yard field goal blocked as the quarter expired. In between, the Owls punched in rushing scores at 13:28 and 2:49 to stretch the margin to 38–23.
- Closing stretch (4th) — A 20-yard Citrus touchdown pass made it 45–23, and another short scoring run pushed it to 51–23 with 6:00 to play. Carmichael answered immediately, racing 57 yards for a late Hancock score at 5:15; Missamore powered in the two-point conversion.

- QB: Missamore — 16-for-36, 228 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT; added 38 rushing yards and the two-point conversion.
- WR: Martinez — 5 receptions, 106 yards, 2 TD (25, 17).
- RB room — 235 rushing yards on 35 attempts, led by Carmichael (8 carries/80 yards, TD); Elijah Little (6 carries/55 yards); Torrell Harley (9 carries/34 yards); plus chunk gains from Isaiah Hernandez (12-yarder) and Lane Miller (10 yards).
- Defense / Special Teams — Justyce Roserie snagged a 49-yard interception return; Jordan Orcutt placed one of his two punts inside the 20; Fika Salatielu registered 4.5 tackles for loss, totaling -10 yards for Citrus
