Football Opens Season with 42-20 Win over Orange Coast
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College football team kicked off the 2025 season in impressive fashion, rolling past Orange Coast 42-20 at home on Saturday afternoon. AHC now holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-team series record with the two teams meeting for the first time in 2023. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs' offense wasted no time establishing control in the first frame. Torrell Harley opened the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter. After Orange Coast answered with a 73-yard touchdown strike, Hancock responded as Tyson Scott connected with Elias Martinez on a 3-yard score to regain the lead.
In the second quarter, Cash Carter powered in from two yards out, and moments later, the defense delivered. Takai Azziz intercepted a pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown, pushing the Bulldogs' advantage to 28-10. The Pirates added a late field goal, but the home squad carried a commanding 28-13 lead into the break.
Orange Coast closed the gap to 28-20 with a 26-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter, but Coach Aguilar's crew quickly slammed the door. Quarterback Drake Missamore tossed back-to-back touchdown passes — a 23-yarder to Tay Armstrong Jr. and a 22-yarder to Dylan Heath — to cap the Bulldogs' scoring.
Hancock's defense took over from there, shutting out the Pirates in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
