FOOTBALL PLACES 15 ON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
VENTURA-- The Western State Conference announced its' 2004 all-conference teams today, with Allan Hancock College receiving 15 mentions on the Northern Division Team, including five first team selections.
Led by first team players on offense, lineman Luis Espinosa (So., Santa Maria HS) and running back Anthony Melton (Fr. Delano, CA), the Bulldogs placed nine on offense. Lineman Joseph Parker (Fr., Bronx, NY), wide receiver Ryan Bugg (So., Atascadero HS), and running back Drew Williams (Fr., Queens, NY) were named to the second team.
Center Trevor Lady (So., Arroyo Grande HS), linemen Chase Rivera (Fr., Arroyo Grande) and Chris Spence (So., Righetti) were named honorable mention as was fullback Walter Burnette (So., Chapel Hill, NC).
On defense, linebacker Trevor Shamblee (So., Jamaica Queens, NY), defensive back Bronson Barnett (So., Atascadero) and punter Billy Vinnage (Fr., Arroyo Grande HS) were named to the first team on defense. Linebacker Rick Aguilar (Fr., Lompoc HS) was placed on the second team.
Marcus Little (Fr., Dayton, OH) received honorable mention as a defensive lineman as did defensive back Trevor Meyers (So., Honolulu, HI).
Hancock ended the season 6-5 after earning an invitation to play in the Producer's Dairy Bowl for the second year in a row. The complete All-WSC Team can be seen by clicking on the WSC Stat Leaders button on the AHC Athletic Homepage, then selecting "11-23-04 Football."
