TWO MORE FOOTBALL PLAYERS FIND HOMES AT FOUR YEAR SCHOOL
SANTA MARIA-- Head football coach Kris Dutra announced today that quarterback Andrew Jones and fullback Walter Burnette will move on to four-year schools to continue playing football.
Burnette (6-2, 227, So., Chapel Hill, NC) will play at the alma-mater of Jerry Rice at Mississippi Valley State. The Delta Devils are in the Southwestern Athletic Conference at the NCAA I-AA Division.
Jones (6-0, 192, So., Lompoc HS) will attend Upper Iowa University. A Division III team that competes in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Peacocks are coached by Mike Knoll, a former head coach at New Mexico State and a former assistant at Miami.
Burnette and Jones join a long list of former Bulldogs who have moved on to continue their careers at four-year colleges.
