FOOTBALL TO GO BOWLING IN FRESNO
SANTA MARIA-- On the strength of an 8-2 record and No. 9 ranking in the Southern Region of the state, the Allan Hancock College football team has earned an invitation to play in the Producers Dairy Bowl in Fresno next Saturday (Nov. 22).
In the game, the Bulldogs will meet Fresno City College (also 8-2) in a 4:00 p.m. start at Ratcliffe Stadium, the regular-season home of the Rams.
The game will mark AHC's ninth California Community College bowl game appearance in the past 10 years and 11th of all time. It is also the second Bulldog bowl-game appearance in the three-year tenure of Head Coach Kris Dutra.
Fresno was ranks sixth in the final California Community College Regional State Football Poll (released Sunday, Nov. 16). Under Coach Tony Cavigila, the Rams finished as runner-up to defending state-champion Reedley College in the Valley Conference. FCC will enter the game coming off a 27-23 season-ending loss to the Tigers. By virtue of that win, Reedley earned the right to play in the Hawaiian Punch Bowl in San Francisco, to determine the NorCal representative in the state championship game at Bakersfield on Dec. 13.
