NEXT LEVEL: Nathan Coffey to Join Johnson University
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Nathan Coffey, will continue his academic and athletic career at Johnson University in the spring.
"I chose Johnson because they are a very competitive program in a great area of Tennessee. I feel like I'll be able to go in and make an immediate impact," Coffey stated.
Coffey wrapped up his second season on the bump for the Bulldogs in May. The Bakersfield native collected one win on the season after tossing 10 innings through nine appearances. He struck out eight batters while surrendering seven earned runs. As a freshman, Coffey struck out 36 batters with a 2.74 ERA and a 1-1 record after 13 showings.
"My time at Hancock taught me how to be adaptable. I feel like I learned a lot about being helpful in any role that I'm put in, even if it isn't a role that Im used to," Coffey added.
The Royals are a member of the NAIA and compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
