Baseball Places 16 on All-Conference List, Claims Four Superlatives
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sixteen Allan Hancock College baseball student-athletes were named to the 2026 Western State Conference (North) All-Conference list, while four were recognized as Gold Glove recipients, at the conclusion of the regular season campaign. Honorees are chosen during the league-wide coaches' meeting at the conclusion of the regular season based on stats and performances from conference games.
Chris Stevens was chosen as the WSC North Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their first conference title, through a full field of competitors, since 1995 with a league record of 20-4. Hancock's Dominic Sebastiani and Nik Cardinal split a share of the Assistant Coach of the Year crown for their efforts with the program.
Josue Garcia headlined the list of seven members from the AHC squad on the First Team list by snagging the Big Stick Award. The local product finished the regular season with a .373 batting average while tallying 90 total bases. He registered 14 doubles, one triple, and five home runs en route to a league-leading tally of 49 RBIs. Garcia also caught 10 runners attempting to steal while working behind the plate and earned a slot on the WSC Gold Glove list with a .975 fielding percentage as the primary catcher for Hancock. He is now a two-time First Team and Gold Glove recipient.
Braden Oliver, Parker Schwake, Jacob McMillan, Trent Martin, Seth Tedeschi, and Hunter Beck joined Garcia as First Team selections.
Oliver also landed on the Gold Glove and the First Team lists for the second time. In the outfield, he accumulated 102 putouts and two assists on 105 chances. At the plate, he worked towards a .347 batting average with five doubles and two home runs on 51 hits. Oliver drove in 41 runs throughout the regular season, ranking him third amongst league foes, and led the team with 10 stolen bases.
Schwake, a redshirt freshman, leads the team with seven homers on the season. The Milwaukee native has a .349 batting average with 37 RBIs along with a .432 slugging percentage. Schwake ranks second on the team with seven stolen bases.
McMillian ranks fourth on the team with a .493 slugging percentage after notching eight doubles, two triples, and three shots over the fence on 53 hits. The freshman product of Righetti High School has a .353 batting average with 34 RBIs to his name.
Martin, a sophomore from Bakersfield, picked up the lone designated hitter spot on the list. He boasts a .294 batting average with 30 hits, including eight doubles and one triple, along with 18 RBIs.
Tedeschi, a freshman right-handed pitcher, was selected after accumulating a 6-2 record on the bump after starting in 12 of his 13 appearances. He boasts a 4.33 ERA through 60.1 innings of work with an average of 8.35 strikeouts per game (56 total).
Beck rounded out the First Team honorees in the relief pitcher spot. The Las Vegas native earned a 3-1 record and six saves after 19 showings on the mound. He has worked towards an average of 8.59 strikeouts per game and an ERA of 1.96 after tossing 36.2 innings.
Chase Wise (INF), La'akea Ko (INF), Matt Kovach (OF), Ryan Cronk (P), and Gustavo Crawford (P) were named to the Second Team All-Conference list.
Brycen Hurtado (P), Brady Birdsong (P), and Gage Mattis (P) rounded out the award winners as All-Conference Honorable Mention selections.
