SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College baseball team battled Cuesta College in a three-game series this week, bouncing back from a tough opening loss to earn the series win with a dominant performance in the rubber match at John Osborne Field.
Game 1 – Cuesta 4, Hancock 0 | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs dropped the opener despite solid pitching and several offensive opportunities.
Gustavo Crawford gave Hancock a strong start, tossing 5.1 innings while allowing two earned runs and keeping the Cougars within reach. Out of the bullpen, Omar Reynoso was excellent, delivering 3.2 scoreless innings to keep the game from getting out of hand.
Offensively, the Bulldogs had multiple baserunners throughout the contest but were unable to come through with the timely hit. Jacob McMillan led the way with two hits, while Granite Seibt added a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning.
Game 2 – Hancock 5, Cuesta 1 | BOX SCORE
Ryan Cronk delivered a clutch performance in game two, tossing a complete game to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-1 victory and even the series.
Cronk scattered nine hits over 9 innings but consistently worked out of trouble, inducing two key double-play balls while striking out 3 hitters and preserving the Hancock bullpen heading into the decisive third game.
At the plate, Parker Schwake collected two hits and drove in a run. Chase Wise contributed as well, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI to help power the Bulldog offense.
Game 3 – Hancock 13, Cuesta 1 | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs turned in their most complete performance of the series in the finale, dominating Cuesta in a 13-0 victory.
Seth Tedeschi set the tone on the mound, tossing six shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six. The bullpen trio of Gage Mattis, Gabriel Moralez, and Hunter Beck combined to close out the final three innings and secure the win.
Offensively, La'akea Ko sparked the Bulldog lineup with a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three doubles, a sacrifice fly, and two RBIs. Josue Garcia followed Ko's lead with a monster performance of his own, hammering a two-run home run in the fourth inning and later adding a double off the right-field wall. Garcia finished the day 4-for-5 with five RBIs.
Trent Martin also had a productive day at the plate, going 1-for-3 and driving in three runs to help power the Bulldog offense.
The Bulldogs return to action this week in the Spring Tournament, where they will face Cypress, Fresno City, and El Camino College Wednesday through Friday.
