A graduate of Allan Hancock College, Johnson begins her sixth year as an assistant coach for the Hancock softball team. After graduating from Lompoc High School in 1994, Johnson was an All-American outfielder for the Hancock softball program in 1997. She led the team with a .334 batting average, a .778 on-base percentage, and 47 stolen bases. Johnson was a driving force behind the multiple conference championships won by the Bulldogs from 1997-1999. She still holds program single-season records for hits (69), triples (10), as well as all-time records for hits (123) and triples (14).
Johnson received an athletic scholarship to Cal State University, Northridge, where current Hancock coach Scia Maumausolo was an assistant coach. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in child development and a minor in childcare administration.
Currently, Johnson is a program specialist for local non-profit agency Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley and enjoys inspiring young people to succeed in all aspects of life. She lives in Santa Maria and has helped restore the tradition of Hancock softball, a.k.a. Bulldog Nation.
