ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF
Participating in sports is one of the most rewarding team and individual activities people can experience. Unfortunately, people sustain injuries that are mild, severe, and at times season ending. When athletes sustain injuries, athletic trainers are ready to act, treat, and help the athletes get back on their feet. Athletic trainers are the individuals working with athletes on the field and on the court. It is the responsibility of the Allan Hancock College Sports Medicine Team to assist the athlete to safely return to full participation.

STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINERS
Student Athletic Trainers (SATs) are an instrumental part of the sports medicine team. The SATs goal is to earn a kinesiology degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum at the four-year university level, and become Certified Athletic Trainers. Accredited programs include formal instruction in areas such as injury/illness prevention, first aid and emergency care, assessment of injury/illness, human anatomy and physiology, therapeutic modalities, and nutrition. Student’s classroom learning is enhanced through clinical education experiences such as working in the Athletic Training Room and membership to SPAT (Students Pursuing Athletic Training) Club.
